Program-specific Requirements

Most programs require additional documents to be included with your application materials, such as test proficiency scores.  Please see below for program-specific requirements:

  • Intensive Program (IP)
    • No additional requirements
  • University Connection (UniConn) 
    • Complete the "University Connection" section of application.
    • New students must place into the 600 level of the Intensive Program.
  • University Connection Plus (UniConn Plus)
    • Complete the "University Connection" section of application.
    • One of the following as proof of language proficiency at a CEFR level of B2-:
      • Internet-based TOEFL of 70+
      • IELTS of 6.0+
      • If you have not taken one of these tests, contact the ELP for assistance.
  • Global Citizen Study Abroad Program (GCP)
    • Official university transcripts
    • One of the following as proof of language proficiency at a CEFR level of B2:
      • Internet-based TOEFL of 74+
      • IELTS of 6.0+
      • TOEIC score of 750+ (Students submitting a TOEIC score will also be required to take an online placement test)
  • Global Citizen Study Abroad Program: Accelerated (GCP-A)
    • Official university transcripts
    • One of the following as proof of language proficiency at a CEFR level of B2+/C1-:
      • Internet-based TOEFL of 87+
      • IELTS of 6.5+
      • TOEIC score of 850+ (Students submitting a TOEIC score will also be required to take an online placement test)
  • Institute for Academic Studies (IAS)
    • At least 18 years old
    • Complete the "Institute for Academic Studies" section of the application.
    • One of the following as proof of language proficiency at a CEFR level of B1-
      • Internet-based TOEFL of 57+
      • IELTS of 5.5+
      • TOEIC of 550+
      • If you have not taken one of these tests, contact the ELP for assistance.
    • Beginning July 2018, IAS will be available to students at a pre-intermediate language level. Students will be eligible with one of the following as proof of language proficiency at a CEFR level of A2
      • Internet-based TOEFL of 40+
      • IELTS of 5.0+
      • TOEIC of 400+
  • Institute for Business Communication (IBC)
    • At least 18 years old
    • Complete the "Institute for Business Communication" section of the application.
    • One of the following as proof of language proficiency at a CEFR level of B1-
      • Internet-based TOEFL of 57+
      • IELTS of 5.5+
      • TOEIC of 550+
      • If you have not taken one of these tests, contact the ELP for assistance.

Please note that the program coordinator will not review your application until all materials have been received.
