What Erick Hyde does: As part of the ELP’s University Connection (UniConn) Program, he helps students understand the US college/university admission process and apply for admission. Through workshops, courses, and one-on-one advising, he works with students to find schools that are a good fit and then supports students to submit their best application for admission. He is also the instructor for the massive open online course, “Applying to US Universities” on Coursera.
Experience: He spent over 10 years as an admission counselor at three different schools: La Salle University, Montgomery County Community College, and Widener University. In that time, he met students from all over the world and evaluated thousands of applications for admission. For the last five years, Mr. Hyde has used his admission knowledge to help ELP students apply to US schools for undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degrees.
Travels: During his time in admission, he traveled extensively to meet students in their home countries. His stops included Canada, China, Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam.
