What Dr. Grosik does: She oversees the curriculum and instruction for all of the programs and courses here at the ELP. That means, she is involved in what students learn and the way they are taught in our programs.
Experience: Before coming to Penn, she taught EFL abroad in a secondary school in Gabon as a Peace Corps volunteer and at an English language institute in China. When she returned to the US, she completed the Philadelphia Teaching Fellows program to become an elementary ESL classroom teacher in the School District of Philadelphia and taught adult ESL classes at Bucks County Community College. She also served as a research and teaching assistant at Temple University for several years, where she taught teacher education courses on the foundations of teaching English language learners.
Travels: During her undergraduate studies, she studied abroad in Rome, Italy. She lived and taught abroad in Gabon and China and has been lucky enough to travel extensively in Europe, Africa, South America, and North America.
