I have enjoyed my experience in the English Language Program (ELP) since the first day! The professors, the members, the university, the city, and colleagues made this experience one of the most gratifying and enriching in my life.

“The classes have been fundamental in helping me achieve my objectives, with teachers who have been exceptionally competent and kind.”

I chose the ELP due to the reputation of the University of Pennsylvania and the recommendations from my relatives. I arrived in Philadelphia in Fall 2023 when the enrollment office team and teachers warmly welcomed us during orientation. The university and its campus are stunning, surrounded by nature, and populated with adorable animals such as squirrels, chipmunks, and birds. The classrooms are excellent, and the student center has been a good place to connect with friends and the staff who organize each week's very fun activities. My primary goal is to continually improve my English communication skills for both professional and academic purposes. The classes have been fundamental in helping me achieve my objectives, with teachers who have been exceptionally competent and kind. Throughout this time, my vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation have noticeably improved.

One of the challenges I encountered was the cold weather, but despite this, I appreciate not only classes but also on- and off-campus activities. Philadelphia, as an important historical city of liberty, offered me numerous options to explore museums, engage in sports, and enjoy leisure activities. My favorite experience has been immersing myself in American history and culture while sharing moments with the friendly and educated locals.

Undoubtedly, this experience has contributed significantly to my personal and professional growth. As a result, I now feel much more confident in applying everything I have learned in my return to Colombia and Brazil. I am truly grateful for it!
