What Ula Cutten does: She supports the instructional technology needs of both instructors and students at the ELP. She helps teachers and administrators integrate and implement various technology-based learning tools for the instruction of students. She trains both teaching staff and students in the use of the course learning management system (Canvas), textbook-related online tools, and other web-based tools and digital equipment useful in teaching and learning.
Experience: She has taught English to students of all ages, from kindergarten to adults, and has worked in teacher-training programs both in the United States and abroad. She has been teaching at the ELP since 1998. She has taught in a variety of ELP programs, including summer, special, and service programs such as the Summer Institute for English Language Educators from South Africa, English for Legal Studies, Freedom Support Act Pre-academic Program, and the Intensive Program. In 2011, she was appointed instructional technology specialist at the ELP.
Travels: She has taught in a variety of countries and states. Her career has led her to Francistown and Serowe, Botswana; Ankara, Turkey; Tokyo, Japan, and to intensive programs in the United States in Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. She has also traveled widely in Zimbabwe, Malawi, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Georgia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
