What Michael Sullivan does: He teaches courses in the Intensive Program, as well as in special programs like the summer training for Penn’s International Teaching Assistants. He also helps design new courses, such as the five new ESL courses for Coursera.
Experience: He has worked at the ELP since 2010. Before that, he was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine. He has worked in several ESL programs in Philadelphia, including the Community College of Philadelphia, the Garces Foundation, and the Nationalities Services Center.
Travels: He lived and taught in Ukraine for two years, and studied abroad for one semester in Rome. Both were wonderful experiences. In addition, he has really enjoyed traveling in Turkey, Mexico, and Japan.
