What Leah Greenspoon does: She oversees courses, advising services, and workshops for students who are preparing for US university degree programs. She manages courses such as “Writing the University Application Essay” and “Skills for Success at US Universities.” Whether students are beginning the application process or actively preparing to enter their degree programs, Leah can find support for them to reach their academic and admission goals. She also manages the Foundation Year Programs for students in the KAUST Gifted Student Program as well as other scholarship programs and serves as a liaison between the ELP and student sponsors.
Experience: She began her career in TESOL as an EFL instructor in Madrid, Spain. She taught a variety of business English and general English courses for students and professionals from 2005-2007. Leah first joined the ELP in 2009 as a lecturer, teaching courses in the Intensive Program, Business Intensive Program, and Conversation and Culture Programs. Leah then served as ESL program coordinator for Valley Forge Military College. She developed and coordinated an Intensive English Language and Culture Program for international cadets who were preparing for US undergraduate programs as well as officer training programs in the United States Service Academies. She then transitioned back to the ELP as academic advising specialist in the UniConn Program. In this role she advised students, taught courses, and managed curriculum aimed at helping students to reach admission goals and prepare for success at US universities.
Travels: She lived in Spain for three years and taught English in both Spain and Italy. For six summers she taught in and directed an international youth program in southern Spain. She’s traveled extensively in Europe as well as Ecuador.
