The ELP’s University Connection (UniConn) Program is excited to release our eleven-video series on understanding and preparing for the Duolingo English Test (DET)! Achieving a high score on an English language proficiency test is one of the most difficult parts of applying to U.S. universities for many international students. To be successful, it’s important to fully understand the test you’ve chosen to take- how it’s structured and scored, what it will ask you to do, and how you can prepare. In eleven bite-sized videos which can be viewed individually or as an entire course, all free of charge, Language Specialist Eve Litt and UniConn Counseling Specialist Erick Hyde provide an overview of the test, describe what you’ll find in each section, offer tips and strategies, and explain how universities assess your score as part of your overall application. We hope you enjoy these videos and find them useful. For more on proficiency testing as part of the university application process, see our latest UniConn Blog: Stuck Below an IELTS or TOEFL Requirement? Good luck navigating the U.S. university admissions process!
