Ian Nichols

Advising Specialist

What Ian Nichols does: He helps students with academic or attendance issues, and gives advice about choosing classes. He works with the University Connections team to support students who are applying to US universities. He also teaches a variety of courses and levels in the Intensive Program.

Experience: He has taught academic English at Seoul National University and Missouri State University. He also taught writing courses for native English speakers at Missouri State University. Since coming to the ELP in 2012, he has served as a mentor for many students in the TESOL program at Penn’s Graduate School of Education.

Travels: He has taught in South Korea, Switzerland, and Colombia, and worked briefly on farms in New Zealand, Sweden, Finland, and Norway. He spent one semester in England during university. He has enjoyed traveling in Japan, China, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Australia, India, and many places in Europe and the US.
