Pre-intermediate Core Course

Exploring Philadelphia:  An Academic and Cultural Experience

This course is designed to introduce you to skills and strategies necessary to understand and respond to academic content. With a focus on U.S. immigration and the history of Philadelphia, students will read academic texts, listen to lectures, participate in discussions, give a presentation and build a personal website that showcases their coursework and international experience.

Pre-intermediate Elective Courses


This course will introduce you the language skills and strategies to explore topics in social networking, public relations, and crisis management. Through in-class discussions and speaking assignments, you will develop your abilities to discuss these topics.


In this course, you will learn about successful leaders and analyze their leadership and communication styles.  You will focus on language and strategies to help you give a more effective presentation in English.
