An Important Update Regarding Fall 2021 Sessions

The ELP has resumed in-person classes in our Intensive Program.  Due to the uncertainties related to the COVID-19 pandemic’s continued impact on international travel, we strongly encourage students to plan accordingly to allow for possibly longer than usual delays.

For everyone involved, the transition to in-person programs will require thoughtful preparation, flexibility in dealing with whatever remaining surprises this journey has in store for us, and most importantly candid and timely communication.  Please see below for important information regarding University health guidelines and requirements.

Fall 2021: COVID-19 Vaccine requirement goes into effect for all Penn students

With the safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines now well-established, and with the importance of mass vaccination so central to our commitment to having a safe campus environment, UPenn will require that all students be vaccinated starting in the Fall 2021 semester. Exceptions will only be provided for medical or religious reasons. Students should plan on being fully vaccinated (i.e., two weeks after the last dose of the vaccine) before they come to campus for the fall semester. For any students who have not been vaccinated by the time they return to campus, the University will provide vaccination clinics, however, students will need to quarantine for two weeks after receiving their first dose.  Further guidance will be forthcoming for international students who received vaccines not currently approved in the United States.

Currently, all members of the Penn community and visitors are required to wear masks while indoors in public or shared spaces.

Read the message from University President, Amy Gutman, for more detailed information about Penn's Readiness for the fall.

We are thrilled to be able to welcome students back on campus and we will be sharing updates on our situation whenever new information is available.  As always, we encourage you to reach out to us at any time with any questions and concerns.
