What Ms. Turner does: As a Programs Manager, Ms. Turner coordinates and manages the summer and winter Institutes for Academic Studies as well as the Institute for Business Communication. This includes organizing guest lectures and activities as well managing the curriculum development and student enrollment. She has taught courses in many ELP Programs, contributes to ELP committees, and collaborates in updating and creating new courses. She supervises and manages other Language Specialists and Lecturers at ELP and serves as a rater for visiting International Scholars. Outside of ELP, Ms. Turner is involved in the TESOL profession as a member of Penn-TESOL East, and served as Vice President and Conference Chair in 2006. She has also presented at International TESOL and NAFSA conferences in 2009.
Experience: Ms. Turner began her teaching career as a volunteer English teacher in 1999, and has taught in a variety of academic, general, and business programs throughout the years. Since joining the ELP in 2004, she has served as a language instructor in many programs as well as a variety of administrative roles. She has taught a variety of courses in the Intensive Program, Business Intensive Program, ITA program, and workshops for International Dentists. Ms. Turner has also served as an Interim Academic Advisor, Student Services Coordinator, and ITA Coordinator.
Travels: She enjoys traveling and learning about new places and people. She has taught English in Japan and Bulgaria and also studied abroad in Costa Rica.

She also completed certification through the Penn Lauder CIBER program, for language educators teaching business content. She is currently working on ACTFL certification for oral proficiency interviews.
