Hilary J. Bonta

What Ms. Bonta does: She helps English students of all backgrounds understand their particular language challenges and develop strategies to make the improvements they are seeking. She is comfortable with a wide-range of learners, from introductory students learning the basics, to advanced students striving for university and graduate admissions, to business executives seeking professional polish to their oral and written communications.

Experience: She has been teaching English for more than 25 years. At the ELP, she teaches academic preparation and business English in addition to advising students on university application preparation. As a staff member at the ELP, she coordinated student services and special programs. Prior to joining the ELP, she oversaw educational advising centers in the former Soviet Republics and a variety of programs for international students including US Department of State funded grants for international student exchange with countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Travels: She has lived and studied in Germany, Kenya, and Tanzania and has taught EFL in Czechia and Slovakia. Her studies and career have allowed her to travel widely including to Russia, Armenia, France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Austria, Mexico, Spain, Croatia, Bosnia, Italy, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
